#1most added track to community radio this week

The Upskirtsreturn with a brand new single and tour dates.

Mind’s A Burden is indicative of a more collaborative approach to songwriting within the band and a weekend in a creaky fibro in Sydney’s Blue Mountains has resulted in this swirling, psychedelic rock gem. Drummer Tom Kell described this new process “One of us may like some music more than the other, but I get the feeling that as a band we understand and appreciate common elements in the music we both like. We see the same things in music, which allows us to create music that is cohesive in it’s mission.”

Taking this mindset into the studio with award-winning producer Tim Carr (Urthboy, Matt Corby), the band have come out with their most accomplished track to date. It’s a dense, lushly produced song built around a hazy guitar riff that is reminiscent of My Bloody Valentine, and The Horrors. “The song is about friction in a relationship, spurred on by distance and uncertainty. It can be difficult to know where love lies when you convince yourself that something's wrong, and something's missing.” This notion of disillusionment is intensified by spacious, warping vocals that build in intensity as the track progresses, culminating in an all out sonic assault - blistering fuzzed-out guitars, driving bass, and urgent crashing drums - before screeching to a halt.

Fast developing a reputation as one of the best live bands in the country, previously playing with King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Wolf & Cub, Dune Rats, Hunting Grounds, The Rubens and Worlds End Press, The Upskirts head out on a single tour which is not to be missed.
