Farmer & The Owl Record label launch party for "Beached Friends"

Farmer & The Owl launch “F//O” - A new record label - with their first release, “Beached Friends” a 16-track compilation. Released in late May. Launched officially on May 29 at UOW Unibar.

Farmer & The Owl was first conceived in late 2013 as a collaborative effort between Music Farmers and Yours & Owls to present a cool and different, ‘boutique’ style music & arts festival in their home town of the leisure coast.

Since the success of November’s event, it was clear that Farmer & The Owl worked and felt ‘right’ to all involved. It was clear that it would continue, and now only a few months on, that it was time to grow & expand with new and exciting projects. “Spreading the wings” so to speak.
In late May, “Beached Friends”, a 16-track compilation featuring acts of varying notoriety will be released nationally through Farmer & The Owl’s new label F//O.   

“Beached Friends” is a compilation aimed at reflecting the musical & creative community we’re a part of and celebrating it. Whether it’s the music, or the parties, or the whatever that drew us in initially, the one thing everyone shares is a magical connection to the ‘leisure coast’ and an alternative way of living life… Without ‘real’ jobs. Yew!!!
Oh. And did we mention that all these bands are off the hook!?! Some you will know and some you wont. So don’t be shy. Come say g’day and listen to our tunes while you get beached out of your mind.

“Beached Friends” is an insight into the kind of music F//O will be looking to release in the future as well as reflecting a lot of the bands we will be working with regularly, either through management, bookings or on a whole bunch of our shows.

In adding to the annual festival & event promotions, Farmer & The Owl is rounding itself out, into a more inclusive and diverse music community with more to offer.  With wings in management, artist booking and now the label side, F//O aims to develop and grow their community into a household name in the Australian music culturescape.

On May 29, come celebrate the release of “Beached Friends”. The launch party has been set for the UOW Unibar with live performances by JENNY BROKE THE WINDOW, SHINING BIRD, THE WALKING WHO, HOCKEY DAD & MADMONZ DJ SET plus more tba, video projections by STOKEMACHINE & giveaways.
