Abergavenny Arts Festival - Jazz Appreciation

Abergavenny Arts Festival - Jazz Appreciation

Using video clips and sound tracks to demonstrate the story of jazz, Mike Skilton – who has held the reins of Black Mountain Jazz for over 11 years, bringing to Abergavenny a wealth of musicians from around the world – will be in conversation with Rhys Phillips, who until very recently hosted the hugely successful ‘A Slice of Jazz’ radio programme, with its world-wide audience.

This session, which is the first of three hosted by Black Mountain Jazz as part of the Abergavenny Arts Festival programme, will last about 1hr 30mins.

Abergavenny Arts Festival - Jazz for Littleuns

Abergavenny Arts Festival - Jazz for Littleuns

Led by local musicians Martha Skilton (sax) and Richard West (piano), this session is part of the Black Mountain Jazz programme for the Abergavenny Arts Festival.

Aimed at the 2 to 4 years age group (with some flexibility), it introduces the fun of jazz to music youngsters enjoy.  As well as listening, there will be plenty of joining in.

All littleuns must be accompanied by an adult throughout the session, which will last for about 1hr.

Fraser & The Alibis

Sunday 25th November 2018

London-based four piece Fraser & The Alibis play the hippest in bop, blues and boogaloo.

Inspired by the big tenor sax sounds of Dexter Gordon and the screaming organ of Jimmy Smith, the band plays original tunes – deeply entrenched in the roots of the music.
