Stefanos Tsourelis Trio

Having recently released their first album “Native Speaker”, Black Mountain Jazz is delighted to welcome the Stefanos Tsourelis Trio to the theatre at the Melville Centre.

The wall2wall Jazz weekend starts with its traditional Festival Dinner – again at Abergavenny’s splendid Angel Hotel.

Our entertainment this year will be provided by the widely acclaimed Grammy-nominated jazz singer and saxophinist Becki Biggins, who is linking up with Guy Shotton Trio.

The event has been sold out in past years and early booking is recommended.

Enrico Tomasso has won the British Jazz Award for best trumpeter three times, the last in 2013, and has not been outside the top two since.

Daniel Newberry is tenor saxophonist currently studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with Iain Ballamy, Geoff Simkins and Alex Merritt.

The Ben Holder Quartet is a stellar line-up of incredible musicians, blending an energetic mix of traditional jazz and swing with Ben‘s own infectious originals, which hark back to the fun and swing of the 1920s and 1930s.

Rachel Sutton collaborates with some of the best musicians on the jazz scene and her extensive repertoire, including her own compositions, is both exciting and moving for her audiences.

British Jazz multi-instrumentalist Tony Kofi is a player of the Alto, Baritone, Soprano and Tenor saxophones – plus the flute.


Having ‘cut his teeth’ in the “Jazz Warriors” of the early 90’s, award-winning saxophonist Tony Kofi has gone on to establish himself as a musician, teacher and composer of some authority.

The wall2wall Jazz Festival 2018 is brought to a close with our exciting Charity Swing Party at the town’s Market Hall.  With a terrific band, fab food available for those who fancy a tapas platter and a well stocked bar – we are set for great evening. 

This year we are delighted to pledge a contribution of £3 from every ticket sold for this event to Tŷ Hafan, to support its dedicated provision of palliative care to children and young people and support for their families.

London-based four piece Fraser & The Alibis play the hippest in bop, blues and boogaloo.

Inspired by the big tenor sax sounds of Dexter Gordon and the screaming organ of Jimmy Smith, the band plays original tunes – deeply entrenched in the roots of the music.
