Black Mountain Jazz Club are excited to present 1917 - an evening dedicated to the celebration of all things Jazz.

Musically and historically, 1917 was an extraordinary year, when the first jazz recording was made and released.  Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie and Thelonious Monk were born and the 20th Century journey through the iconic story of Jazz and it’s influences began to be charted.

Presented over two sets (with a ‘jazz in the bar’ break in between), we have hand-crafted our own stellar band, where each performer will bring their own musical style, expertise and influences to the event.

We are not looking to create for a stuffy history of jazz lesson, just a celebration of iconic moments, players, collaborations and the influences that they may have had.

Come and join us in the celebration and share in a musical extravaganza exploring the journey of jazz over the last century

Please note that we plan to 'live stream' this event
