Discovery Session 1: La Voix humaine (1958)

In our Discovery Sessions this year we will be expanding on the theme of this year’s exhibition through a series of works inspired by particular performers. In the first session, we meet the French composer Francis Poulenc – a friend of Britten and Pears – whose dramatic vocal works were composed for, and even ‘about’, the soprano Denise Duval.
