Madeleine Olivia - Make it Vegan

Calling all food lovers, are you looking to add more vegan food into your diet or have you decided to go full Vegan? Madeleine Olivia is a self-taught home cook who has spent the last eight years sharing her life online, charting her journey to live a sustainable and eco-conscious lifestyle through her wildly popular YouTube videos. Her goal is to educate her audience around plant-based cooking; making veganism inclusive and encouraging them to eat more plants and reduce their environmental footprint.

Her much anticipated book 'Make it Vegan is out now and she will be joining us in the bookshop for an evening of foodie inspiration. With recipes including Plant-based Pain au Chocolat, 10-minute Mac and Cheese and Vegan Paella, Madeleine's book will inspire you to cook a variety of delicious, simple and affordable meals taking you from breakfast right through to lunch and dinner (with some tasty treats thrown in for good measure!)

Maddie grew up in Cornwall and now lives with her husband in a gorgeous Cornish farmhouse that she is renovating and documenting online. She went vegan in her final year at university whilst struggling with an eating disorder at a difficult and highly pressured time in her life. She says that initially it felt like the lure of a new diet, but her motivations for going vegan changed when she learned about what it really stood for. The environmental benefits of plant based meals is one of here primary inspirations.

She started her YouTube channel in 2016 sharing videos on veganism, minimalism, and sustainability after being inspired by other online content creators. She has a total of over 660,000 followers across her platforms and has received over 52 million views on her YouTube channel. This will be a great evening to get inspired and join in the conversation about food and planet.
