After almost a decade of playing their own style of rock’n’roll, Wollongong’s very own Leadfinger are about to pack the van and begin the glorious and arduous task of touring and promoting what will be their 5th album of original songs. Been there done that certainly applies to Leadfinger and yet the desire remains as the journey continues. Leadfinger have built a reputation based on great songs and quality musicianship and are one of the few local bands to have all of their albums come out on Vinyl. The new Leadfinger album, Friday Night Heroes is slated to drop in early June and will be released on Vinyl, CD and Digital download. It was recorded in late 2015 at Sydney’s best analogue studio Linear Recording with Wade Keighran (Wolf & Cub, Steve Smyth Band) behind the controls.

Leadfinger mine the deep seam of real rock’n’roll, back through the 70’s rock and punk era’s to the classic Stones and Dylan records of the 60’s and beyond. Their timeless songwriting and heart on sleeve delivery has won many them many fans since forming in 2007! Against the prevailing wisdom of musical narrowcasting, Leadfinger straddle a bundle of styles with the nimble ease of a homespun visionary who correctly sees that ultimately it’s all one.

Leadfinger launch their new album at The Heritage Hotel on Saturday 23rd July with support The Black Heart Breakers.
