Bah, humbug!

Zac Mansfield's annual presentation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL returns to Oshawa! After a successful tryout run in 2013, and annual readings in 2017 and 2018, we are pleased to present another dramatic reading of Charles Dickens' Christmas classic!

Using Dickens' own public reading version he used on reading tours, our readers will take you through a trip of holiday nostalgia as the timeless story of Scrooge is told by dozens of characters.

This is the perfect family adventure. The book is written in staves, and between each stave we will have a Christmas carol sing-a-long! Lots of fun!

100% of net proceeds from this event will be donated to The Denise House in Oshawa.

This dramatic reading will be enhanced by a stunning video design and terrific sound effects (some of which will even be done live from the stage!)

All Readers volunteer their time for this annual charity event.

Absolutely no refunds or exchanges. All sales final.

Before Julia Child and long before today’s proliferation of cooking shows, there was James Beard, the first TV chef. He brought a love for fine cooking (and a sense of humor) to the small screen in 1946 and helped establish an American cuisine based on fresh ingredients. Famous for quips like, “If ever I had to practice cannibalism, I might manage if there were enough tarragon around,” Beard went on to become America’s first “foodie,” and the award bearing his name is still the prize most coveted by chefs across the country. Larger than life (literally and metaphorically), American culinary icon James Beard was a complex, entertaining, beloved and frustrating friend and mentor to many. Openly gay even though his primary audience was middle-America housewives, Beard always kept his phone number listed and famously took calls from anyone anytime who needed a little cooking advice. I Love to Eat (a love story with food)  invites you to meet the man described as “the face and belly of American gastronomy” in this solo play that imagines a late night in Beard’s Greenwich Village home where he shares recipes and cooking tips, gossips, spills secrets, fights loneliness, talks to his best pal Julia Child on the phone, sings a song and even reenacts some of the wilder moments from his landmark 1946 television show, in which he infamously shared the screen with a certain cow named Elsie … A few lucky audience members also get to dine on one of Beard’s signature hors d’oeuvres—lovingly prepared right in front of us as part of the play.

Presented by special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing.

Zac Sings The Great American Songbook

ZAC MANSFIELD SINGS
The Great American Songbook

The Great American Songbook, also known as "American Standards", is the canon of the most important and influential American popular songs and jazz standards from the early 20th century. Although several collections of music have been published under the title, it does not refer to any actual book or specific list of songs, but to a loosely defined set including the most popular and enduring songs from the 1920s to the 1950s that were created for Broadway theatre, musical theatre, and Hollywood musical film. They have been recorded and performed by a large number and wide range of singers, instrumental bands, and jazz musicians. The Great American Songbook comprises standards by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, Johnny Mercer, and Richard Rodgers, among others.

Bringing back the entertainment and magic of yesteryear, Zac Mansfield will sing the most loved songs of the early 20th century!

This hilarious show takes all the elements of the cult classic films The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness and combines them into one of the craziest theatrical experiences of all time. Five college students go to an abandoned cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force that turns them all into demons. It's all up to Ash (a housewares employee turned demon-killing hero) and his trusty chainsaw to save the day. Blood flies. Limbs are dismembered. Demons tell bad jokes ... and all to music. The songs in the show are completely off the wall. Titles like "All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons" and "What the F**k Was That?" will have audiences rolling in their seats and screaming for more and more blood. This show has fun with the horror genre and, in doing so, appeals to a wide audience. It's the only show with a "Splatter Zone"a section of the audience that gets covered in fake blood. And with this combination of blood, jokes, cheesy effects and awesome musical numbers, Evil Dead The Musical is unlike any show you've ever seen. While the Evil Dead films are the definition of cult movies, as a stage show, Evil Dead: The Musical has become a cult sensation of its own. The show played off-Broadway in New York, has broken records in Toronto, has won awards in Korea and has had more than 200 productions mounted across the globe!

Recommended for ages 16+ (strong language, adult humour). Viewer discretion is advised.

*While the fake blood will wash off skin, we make no guarantee and take no responsibility that it will wash out of all fabrics. Wear a white shirt (some will be for sale at the show) to have some fun and create a lasting memory! Complimentary coat check will be provided for those in the Splatter Zones.*
