Smoking Apples 'Flux'

Meet Kate: a physicist in the male-dominated labs of the 1980s. Addicted to the pounding beats and neon glow of her generation, follow Kate as she discovers her potential as a cutting edge scientist. As a girl, Kate dreamt of being among the elite, but as expectations become reality and the professional turns personal, her world is in a spin. Inspired by the work of female scientists, Flux uses extraordinary puppetry, an electrifying set of shadow and light and a filmic score, to follow Kate as she discovers what it means to be a woman in a world of men.

Flux has been developed with shoreditch Town Hall, Oxford Playhouse, Arts at the Old Fire station, Cornerstone Arts, Brewery Arts Centre and the Institute of Physics.
