The Tuesday Play: Made Glorious Summer by Graham Collier

The Tuesday Play is an online series of play readings for our times..
All you need is a computer or tablet or phone, an internet connection and (possibly) a glass of wine! Every week we choose a play and everyone gets a chance to read if they wish, or just sit in the virtual audience and watch, all through the magic of Zoom..
Remember, it's not an audition, just a bit of fun!

This week, we're reading 'Made Glorious Summer' by local playwright, Graham Collier. Based on the first part of John Steinbeck's last novel, 'The Winter Of Our Discontent', It’s about a family man who’s always done the right thing.  Honest, risking little, and settling for what befalls him.  However, circumstances arise whereby he can gain materially if he chooses to loosen his moral attitude, or more accurately choose to interpret his actions differently.  Set over four consecutive seasons, starting in Spring, we watch the lowly shop-worker as he hatches his plans.  Will they work, and if so, will they bring happiness?...
