In 2012 this young Trio won the Audience Prize in the St Martin-in-the-Field Chamber Music Competition. Since then they have performed throughout the UK gaining outstanding reviews. They are joined by the Japanese clarinetist Anna Hashimoto in a performance of one of the greatest works of the 20th century, Quartet for the End of Time. Composed by Olivier Messiaen while he was a prisoner in StalagVIII – A, it was premiered in the camp on 15th January 1941.
The performance today will be introduced on the preceding Friday by a performance of the play A Walk Through the End of Time.
