Scoot Youth exists to empower young people: a youth theatre that gives teenagers the space to tell the stories important to them – to have their voices heard and understood.
Scoot Youth is an open, inclusive environment for all young people between the ages of 11-19. There is no requirement for any previous acting experience. Working with professional theatre-makers, the workshop devises performances over ten-week ‘blocks,’ meeting once a week on Saturday mornings.
The workshop explores not only the practical skills needed to be an honest, open communicator but also the importance of mindset. We practice grit and resilience and celebrate the value of a “growth mindset” through our devising work.
Not only do we train excellent performers, but we also help nurture confident, resilient young people, committed to making a positive impact on the world around them.
Scoot Youth is based at the The Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre in Walton-On-Thames and sessions are run by SCOOT THEATRE Artistic Director, Max Hutchinson.
Max is a professional actor and director and is currently starring in the long-running West End production of The Woman in Black. Max has extensive experience working with young people from primary through to higher education and has taught at many of the top drama schools in the country.
Scoot Youth runs every Saturday at 10am for a ten-week block
