This eclectic exhibition of Peter Lamb’s paintings reflects his impulsive approach to art. A place, an object or a sensation can suddenly trigger a desire to paint. From this initial urge, figurative, impressionistic or semi-abstract depictions take shape. Landscapes feature predominantly, but his brush and palette also explore still life, animals and flights of fancy. An avid walker, he draws particular inspiration from hiking across uplands that bear the marks of distant history. He is fascinated by ruins, standing stones and ancient sacred sites. These appear in many of his works. He will be active at his easel during the exhibition and will be delighted to talk about his work on show and in progress.
