Enamelling Introduction Skill Sessions including 3D shim
Tuesday 9am - 11am
8 week course (Split into 2 x 4 week parts)
What is enamelling - heating powdered glass onto metal.
What will you achieve - You will create jewellery, keyrings or pictures. Additionally there is an option to do 3 dimensional enamelling on thin copper shim
Session structure - 8 x 2hr sessions split into two parts.
All sessions cover Introductory Skills : scraffito, masking, screens, sifting, brushing, colour layering & design, finishing skills for creating smooth surface finish + bubbling or cracking issue resolution. Each term you will improve these skills and learn an additional new enamelling technique.

Part B- June 10th, 17th, 24th & July 1st
Cost
Part A cost: £90
Part B cost: £90
Part A + Part B: £160 (saving £20 if purchased together)
Cost includes RHB facilities, teaching, kiln & tool usage.
Copper metal and enamel material are paid for separately in class. Typical pendant cost £5 to £10 depending on materials used.

Part A -Introductory enamelling skills. Returning students can improve their skills
Part B -Introductory enamelling skills. Returning students can improve their skills + 3D shim work
No previous experience is needed
All sessions of Parts A & B combined provide a complementary range of skills and techniques. Building and extending your knowledge of enamelling to create multiple pieces.
