Amy Johnson Plane Making Workshop

Amy Johnson Plane Making Workshop (2 hours) by Jenny Lockyer

This International Women's Day, we commemorate Amy Johnson, the pioneering aviator who made history as the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia. To inspire the next generation of aviation enthusiasts, we are offering a 2-hour workshop based on Amy Johnson and her plane, Jason.

This workshop experience is ideal for children in KS1 and 2 introduces the pioneering pilot, Amy Johnson, and her amazing adventures in aviation. Children can find out about the challenges Amy faced as she planned and then undertook her incredible solo flight to Australia in May1930. With Amy Johnson as our inspiration and significant person, children will explore the wonders of modern flight, stories of endurance and technological advancement in aviation and how a love of flying inspired this young woman to fly solo half way around the world.

A fun workshop guaranteed to spark the imagination of children dreaming about flying one day, fascilatated by Jenny Lockyer, who is an experienced workshop facilitator offering a range of heritage, engineering and arts inspired sessions full of creative activity to special and mainstream schools across the UK.
