Mock Tudor Comedy - Friday 19 July

Our monthly Mock Tudor Comedy club night with Ross Smith as MC, Nathan Caton as headliner plus Kate Martin and Joshua Bethania!

NATHAN CATON is one of the most exciting young comedians on the scene. Gigging since the tender age of 19, over the last decade he has established himself both as a circuit headliner, and a name on TV and radio.  Within his first few years on stage, he had picked up various accolades and coveted plaudits including the Chortle Student Comic of the Year award and Broadcast Hotshot and written and starred in a pilot for Paramount Comedy (now Comedy Central) entitled The Nathan Caton Show.
Since then Caton has gone from strength to strength, wowing audiences at comedy clubs up and down the UK, and on his numerous TV and radio appearances, with his delightfully charming blend of personal and political comedy.

KATE MARTIN is ‘brilliantly funny & energetic’ (Angela Barnes) and her ‘confident delivery and slick material’ (Chortle) have quickly established her as one of the most exciting acts on the circuit. Kate was a finalist of the Funny Women Stage Awards 2022, runner-up in the finals of the WDCF New Comedian of the Year competition 2021, and in 2021 won the Comedy Store’s King Gong, Up the Creeks Blackout, and the Frog and Bucket’s Beat the Frog.
At 6ft 1, with the longest wingspan in comedy (*probably), Kate is a naturally engaging, energetic performer with effortlessly tight gags to match. Her unique background in mental health has given her a fresh take on the world, a completely distinctive voice, and fuels her high energy storytelling, whip-smart punchlines and razor-sharp observations of life's quirks through queer eyes.

ROSS SMITH is a regular at some of UK’s biggest comedy clubs. His personable, relaxed style and contemporary material, underpinned by clever wordplay and rapier sharp comebacks, have made him one of the country’s most exciting emerging acts and quick-witted hosts.
In 2018, he made headlines around the world when he agreed to go on a stag weekend holiday abroad with complete strangers, taking the place of another man called Ross Smith. His viral adventure and the aftermath was the subject of his debut Edinburgh show, I Am Ross Smith.

Ross has also featured in Karl Pilkington’s Sky One sitcom Sick Of It and on Apple TV’s Slow Horses

‘One of my favourite new acts, watch him now so you can be smug in 5 years time when he’s big’ – Joel Dommett

JOSHUA BETHANIA is a comedian from India who now lives in London and who’s been on the comedy scene since 2021.  His comedy career includes winning SYTYF 2022, winning King Gong at the Comedy Store London, Finalist at NATYs 2022, Finalist at BBC New Comedian Awards 2022 and he was nominated for best newcomer in the Chortle comedy awards 2023. His observations of life in London as an outsider and what he is doing to become an insider provide the backdrop for his finely crafted brand of comedy.
