Mock Tudor Comedy - Friday 19 July

Our monthly Mock Tudor Comedy club night with Rory O’Hanlon as MC, Nathan Caton as headliner plus Kate Martin and Joshua Bethania!

NATHAN CATON is one of the most exciting young comedians on the scene. Gigging since the tender age of 19, over the last decade he has established himself both as a circuit headliner, and a name on TV and radio.  Within his first few years on stage, he had picked up various accolades and coveted plaudits including the Chortle Student Comic of the Year award and Broadcast Hotshot and written and starred in a pilot for Paramount Comedy (now Comedy Central) entitled The Nathan Caton Show.
Since then Caton has gone from strength to strength, wowing audiences at comedy clubs up and down the UK, and on his numerous TV and radio appearances, with his delightfully charming blend of personal and political comedy.

KATE MARTIN is ‘brilliantly funny & energetic’ (Angela Barnes) and her ‘confident delivery and slick material’ (Chortle) have quickly established her as one of the most exciting acts on the circuit. Kate was a finalist of the Funny Women Stage Awards 2022, runner-up in the finals of the WDCF New Comedian of the Year competition 2021, and in 2021 won the Comedy Store’s King Gong, Up the Creeks Blackout, and the Frog and Bucket’s Beat the Frog.
At 6ft 1, with the longest wingspan in comedy (*probably), Kate is a naturally engaging, energetic performer with effortlessly tight gags to match. Her unique background in mental health has given her a fresh take on the world, a completely distinctive voice, and fuels her high energy storytelling, whip-smart punchlines and razor-sharp observations of life's quirks through queer eyes.

RORY O'HANLON is a London based Irish comedian who first started performing stand up in 2005. In this short period of time he has performed at all the major comedy venues in Dublin such as The International Comedy Club, The Comedy Cellar, The Laughter Lounge, The Hapenny Bridge Inn and is known also to MC at some of these venues on a regular basis. Rory's brand of comedy also seems to travel very well. He is now a regular performer at The Stand Comedy Club in Glasgow as well as Edinburgh and has also just come back from his first solo show ginger nuts which was performed at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Festival while also performing at such world wide famous venues as Gotham Comedy and the Broadway Comedy Club in New York City. The future looks bright for this likeable Dubliner.

JOSHUA BETHANIA is a comedian from India who now lives in London and who’s been on the comedy scene since 2021.  His comedy career includes winning SYTYF 2022, winning King Gong at the Comedy Store London, Finalist at NATYs 2022, Finalist at BBC New Comedian Awards 2022 and he was nominated for best newcomer in the Chortle comedy awards 2023. His observations of life in London as an outsider and what he is doing to become an insider provide the backdrop for his finely crafted brand of comedy.
