Kicking off the new comedy year with headliner
Scott Bennett, fresh from his appearance on The Royal Variety Performance plus
Michael May,
Erich McElroy and other acts to be announced!
SCOTT BENNETT - is a stand-up comedian and writer whose star has most definitely risen. His shows Leap Year and Relax were nominated for ‘Best Show’ at the Leicester Comedy Festival and was named by Chortle as One To Watch.... but that was a few years back. Since then he has certainly lived up to the prediction! TV appearances include Live at the Apollo BBC1 and Live from The Edinburgh Fringe BBC1. With a massive hit of a podcast, Brew With the Bennetts that he does with his wife, Jemma, you will also have heard him as a regular guest on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz, The Now Show, The Likely Dads and Elephant in the Room with Sarah Millican. He also appeared on The Summer Festival with Daliso Chaponda, The Comedy Club with Arthur Smith, and Knock Knock with Helen Lederer. In 2023 he recorded his first Radio 4 special “Stuff” for BBC Radio 4 and in the same year he supported Mickey Flanagan on tour including a 10,000 seat arena show in Nottingham. A recent recipient of the Comics Comic award, Scott was voted “Best Act” - a prestigious award decided by comedians and promoters in the industry. He was also nominated as Best Club Comedian in the Chortle awards. Oh, and not to mention his appearance on the 2024 Royal Variety Performance in front of none other than the King!! And there's pictures of the King laughing, allegedly...
MICHAEL MAY - is one of the most exciting new comedians on the UK circuit. Already a regular MC up and down the country, Michael’s unique take on the world is a hit with audiences everywhere. Michael’s writing prowess continues to grow as his second sitcom script has piqued interest with more than one comedy commissioner. Michael’s warm and open style has proven to be a winning formula and his unflappable smile has seen him sail through numerous events across the UK receiving plaudits wherever he goes and the bookings just keep coming. Undeniably, one to watch!
ERICH McELROY - originally from Seattle, Erich moved to the UK in 2000 and in 2007 collected his British passport. After that he knew he had to start doing stand-up. Erich offers a hilarious and insightful take on the life in the UK through the (somewhat) sober eyes of an American and has delighted audiences up and down the country for many years. While his six full Edinburgh shows have taken a turn for the political (“This is political stand-up at its best." BroadwayBaby) it’s his “modest, slightly bookish, charm and genuine affection for the UK” (Chortle) that makes him stand out. He lives in London with his wife and two children that he is quite fond of.
