Stepping Out Piano Evening Concert – Andy Mais (piano)

After years of playing piano at home for pleasure Andy Mais is stepping out to share his love of music with friends, family and colleagues for an evening of classical and contemporary piano playing and a few songs.  He started taking lessons aged 6 with a local and progressed through the grades.  In his teens he teamed up with his brother to play piano, sax and clarinet at local parties and events.  At University, Andy played in several bands.
20 years ago Andy was inspired by the possibility of learning a piece by Rachmaninov and persuaded a music shop to rent him a Bechstein grand piano.  He organised a couple concerts in London at this time that brought together amateur and professional performers which created a great community.
In recent years, Andy has built a strong connection with the London Contemporary School of Piano (LCSP) that has encouraged him to build a classical repertoire, experiment with improvisation, and singing/ playing together. Andy can often be spotted playing on public pianos in train stations and hotels (as he travels around Europe for his work).

It has been Andy’s dream for many years to organise another concert and to play in public bringing his friends, colleagues and family together around music. So to start off 2025 please do come for a relaxed informal evening of music making which may also re-ignite your interest in making music..
