Familia de la Noche are a female led, award winning theatre company from Wales. A collective of actors, puppeteers, flimmakers and clowns, they make shows that are funny, affecting, devastating, charming and raucously entertaining. They have run workshops for young people all over the world introducing them to puppetry, clowning, sound design and above all how to tell the best stories.
Puppet School is an introduction to puppetry: make your own simple puppets and learn how to operate them!

EASTER: Junior MonologueSlam: Pre Audition Workshop

Thinking of auditioning for MonologueSlam but a bit unsure what to expect? Perhaps you want to get some advice from our team before the audition day, or want to make sure you’ve chosen the right monologue?
The workshops, led by Suzann McLean (CEO and Artistic Director of Theatre Peckham), are to help you prepare for the audition day, either through working on a monologue you’ve selected, or by providing you with some practice material. The workshops will be in small groups of no more than 15 performers, ensuring you get the attention you need to get your performance ready for the unique experience of a MonologueSlam audition.

EASTER: Young Critics with Bridget Minamore

Bridget Minamore is a British-Ghanaian writer from south-east London. She is a poet, critic, essayist, and journalist, often writing about pop culture, theatre, race and class. Publications include The Guardian and Bridget also co-founded of Critics of Colour, a collective to encourage more people of colour to get into theatre journalism.  Ever fancied reviewing theatre? On this 2 day workshop you’ll be introduced to the basics of creative criticism, and learn how to develop the skills and confidence to write about the arts. You will be given FREE theatre tickets to see a show that same evening. Over the weekend you will then have the opportunity to write your review and present your writings and thoughts to Bridget in a follow-up session on Monday 15 April.

On Camera Acting Masterclass

Wrought Artisan (WA) is an actors Coaching company founded by Actor Tobi Bakare (Death in Paradise, Kingsman). The aim of this 1 day masterclass workshop is to encourage actors to boldly present how they personally envisage character and then coaching them on how to execute it in performance. You will learn that the camera is there to assist your peformnace. 

W.A coaches have over 20 years of industry experience and have been instrumental in the booking of numerous high profile TV, Film and Theatre projects such as Black panther (marvel), Homeland (US tv series), Midsummer Night's Dream (BBC1 film Drama) and many more.

Step into Dance

Step Around Town - Southwark
The Royal Academy of Dance’s, Step into Dance programme presents their annual dance performances, Step Around Town. A series of uplifting and energetic performances from young dancers from across the capital. We are delighted to be working in partnership with Theatre Peckham bringing you an eclectic evening of dance featuring work from local Step into Dance school groups, as well as appearances from Theatre Peckham.  
 
Step into Dance is a Royal Academy of Dance programme in partnership with the Jack Petchey Foundation.

VOICES OF BLACK FOLK-“Black Voices in Britain Before The Windrush”

Nu Ikons Production are pleased to announce the latest chapter in their “Voices of Black Folk” series-“Black Voices in Britain Before The Windrush.”  Written & directed by Khareem Jamal-one of the creators of Black Heroes in The Hall of Fame.
 
The average person might have the impression that Black presence in Britain, is a recent one. However the missing pages of British history- that which is never taught in schools or academia- presents a whole different narrative.
This production gives a fascinating insight into three of the many notable characters who lived and died right here in Britain.

Junior MonologueSlam: Masterclass

The workshop is a fun, interactive and constructive session over four hours with a short break. The focus of the session is to analyse the quality and control of your monologue performance, highlighting strengths to build on and weaknesses to avoid or eliminate. Two participants will be selected from the Masterclass to go through to the Monologue Slam show on Friday 12 July!

Junior MonologueSlam Show

MonologueSlam is a nationwide industry showcase for actors from all backgrounds. Twenty actors are given the opportunity to perform for a welcoming audience and a panel of industry professionals who are in a position to move their careers forward. This event helps performers that may not have access to the usual routes into the industry and provides agents and casting directors with an avenue to source fresh talent.The show consists of 2 rounds where each actor will perform a monologue of their choice. 1st round is for 11-13 years old, second round is for 14-17 years old, with an interval in between.
