Concrete Jungle
Theatre Peckham welcomes internationally celebrated Black queer feminist and Associate Artist d'bi.young anitafrika to London, in a Free Public Event featuring a Performance, Artist Talk and Book Launch. d'bi.young will share from her newest monodrama entitled Concrete Jungle and her latest book 'dubbin poetry.'
Concrete Jungle is a poetic-movement-journey that peers into the past festering sore of the Transatlantic system of enslavement to recontextualize the present and reimagine the future. 'dubbin poetry' is a literary articulation of anitafrika's praxis, connecting the dots between self-development, artistic activism and social change, from the particular lens of a Black Jamaican-Canadian womxn. There will be a Talk-Back following the performance.
