Ventnor Fringe: VOiD

What does it take for a human to become a monster?

From the young voice of Sophia Capasso comes a gut punch that will leave audiences questioning the meaning of sanity. Following its critically acclaimed run at Vault Festival 2020 where VOiD was praised for its ‘confrontation of the criminal justice system’ and exploration of ‘psychological terror that several instances of electrifying goosebumps’ VOiD is as an empowering and gut-wrenching drama that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.

Ali’s body feels bruised, her fingers itch for a phone she no longer has, the words of a seriously fit interrogator inaudible over ghostly notifications noises. How did she get here, prison. Exhausted, unable to detach reality from imagination Ali spins a tale that tests the limits of her own identity and our understanding, but does she know more than she’s letting on?

This fast paced thriller uses dark humour to gloss over reality - we all do that right? Conversational and charming with moments of black humour Ali directly addresses her audience as she tries to piece together her fragmented memory to determine the truth. Is she really a monster?
