Ventnor Fringe: Ovid with Reverb: Alter Ego Unplugged

Hidden behind Romantic histories of poetry lies another, one of wit and debate. Alter Ego Unplugged explores this often overlooked tradition with verse on love, poetry, drumming, belief, boredom and whether to go out and get drunk.

My alter ego, “Master Poet”,
He has become a drummer again.
The reason why—it’s plain to see
(for me at least, if no-one else)—
His drumming can be out of time,
But better than his dreadful rhymes.
