Ventnor Fringe 2023: Piano Smashers

An ageing, much loved, piano is left in a will to the younger relatives. They don't want it, it is a burden, but try as they might to rid themselves of it, they are bound by a sense of 'something' to keep it. Will they ever work out what that 'something' is? Think Waiting For Godot with a piano. This work in progress (WIP) is the second original piece from theatre maker Rob Thompson since returning to theatre making in 2023. Piano Smashers explores what we do with people and things when they become surplus to requirement. When our cultural value diminishes as time ruthlessly marches on.
