Ventnor Fringe 2023: Tim Cooper presents MAWGIAS

Meet MAWGIAS, the next evolution of the MAMIL – the Middle Aged Man In Lycra. There's no lycra here, more slick suits and city lights, stiff drinks and violent nights. Master of the universe, perhaps, but what happens when all the super-powers of straight white male entitlement can't save you from real life?

Join us for an hour of stand-up, storytelling and straight-up spoken word as we navigate a path from trauma to a moment of genuine healing. Tim Cooper, winner of numerous competitions, including the Dublin Story Slam and Circle Sessions Poem of the Year 2019, brings us a show honed in the bars and late night poetry slams of London and Dublin.

The show deals with difficult and potentially traumatic subjects and is recommended for over 18s only, but we hope the rest of you will join us to enjoy a show which is, ultimately, life-affirming, loud and joyful.
