Ventnor Fringe 2023: The Sunday Shindig with Ushti Baba

Have you got that fringe feeling? There's a party every day of the festival so we've planned a very special knees up Sunday Shindig hosted by barn-stomping Bristolians Ushti Baba.

Riotous folk fusing hypnotic pan-European melodies with modern dance rhythms. Heavy beatbox roots, wild fiddle-driven fervour, an energetic thrill-filled musical journey from familiar lands to the beyond and back. Ushti Baba pays warm tribute to their trad folk roots whilst delivering a fierce fresh perspective that captivates crowds. The Bristol-based 7-piece has been tearing up venues and festivals at home and abroad since 2013, with countless headline and prominent slots across the UK and Europe. In 2019 they enjoyed their first primetime radio play on BBC 6 Music.

“Guaranteed to raise the dust and leave no blade untrod...killer festival heroes” - Chris Tofu, Director: Continental Drifts Music

“Make some space - you might need it as you flail around!” - Chris Hawkins, BBC 6 Music

Support comes from the Kahunas. Foot stomping, melodic indie folk music duo. The Kahunas bring a mix of violin, harmonies and a driving dance beat. Fantastic folk duo. Incredibly talented musicians playing their own modern, original songs with a beat that got the whole audience moving. A very rich sound from a combination of vocals, guitar, violin and bass drum.

This event is pay what you can so let's give them a warm Ventnor Welcome !
