Ventnor Fringe 2023: The Crocodile of Old Kang Pow

The Crocodile of Old Kang Pow is a compelling story told with an intoxicating blend of musical styles, set against the fetid backdrop of 18th Century Paris. We asked what would happen if… the notorious sexual deviant known only as The Marquis de Sade, were to lose his libido?

And what if …in order to regain it he must embark on a perilous journey to the mythical land of Old Kang Pow and there face its Crocodile God of Fertility?
Utilising mythology, puppetry, profanity, opera, gospel, humour, irreverence, magical elixirs & high art with low morals, the show weaves an elaborate, hallucinatory and utterly engaging cautionary tale.

The CROC’ has been a part of the Tete a Tete opera festival in London’s west end and it’s inclusion at Ventor Fringe Festival this summer will enable the show to stretch its scaly legs before making an appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe in August.
