Green Elmbridge Sustainability Day

'Stepping Lightly' - A Green Elmbridge Sustainability Day to help us step lightly on our planet and nurture a more sustainable future for all. The programme will include a mix of film and conversation with a morning focus on 'Slow Fashion' and mid-afternoon focus on 'Food Waste and Surplus'.

In between, a 'Take The Jump workshop' for families and a Riverhouse Planetary Agency game session open for all.

Details of the full day programme:

10.30 to 12.00 Fashion’s Footsteps- Screening & Discussion- Experience an insightful documentary about the ever expanding fast fashion model in the 21st century. Engage with a panel of experts as they explore the impact of fashion in our modern world.

12.00 to 14.00 Workshop in Courtyard
Enjoy a chat with the panel or take part in the fashion based workshops.

12.00 to 14.00 Workshop in the Barn 
Planetary Agency - Riverhouse Sustainability Workshop for Children (Aged 7-12) -Led by Riverhouse volunteer, environmental journalist and climate researcher, Uuka Idi

Presentation by Diana Thornton (Oxshott Net Zero and Take The Jump Ambassador) about 'Take the Jump' initiative

14.30 - 16.00 Food’s Footsteps- Screening & Discussion -
Watch extracts from Chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s documentary on Food Waste.

Engage with a panel of experts to explore how we can all make food choices to promote healthy families, , healthy communities and ultimately a vibrant and sustainable planet.
