Unfortunately, owing to illness, violinist Tijmen Huisingh will not be performing at this concert. We are pleased that the remaining trio of Tom Hankey, Catherine Marwood and Mark Bailey are still able to join us, but this has led to some changes to the published programme which will now comprise the following :

Amateur musicians who play violin, viola and cello are invited to join The Edinburgh Quartet for a free workshop before the performance (at 6pm for approximately 1 hour), and to then join the quartet on stage to perform the Tom Harrold 'Elegy'.  Scores for this flexible, free and partly improvised piece can be made available in advance and it is recommended for players of grade 5/6+ standard.  If you are interested in this exciting opportunity please email us at info@swallowtheatre.co.uk.

The Edinburgh Quartet has a long and colourful history as one of Britain’s foremost chamber ensembles, having appeared regularly at prestigious venues across the UK and toured extensively across Europe, the Far and Middle East, and North and South America.  In addition to a busy concert schedule the Edinburgh Quartet is frequently featured in radio broadcasts for the BBC and other stations.
