The Fitzwilliam String Quartet at Isle of Whithorn Church

The Swallow Theatre Association are delighted to welcome back The Fitzwilliam String Quartet.  The quartet, named after Fitzwilliam College Cambridge, gave their first performance 50 years ago.  This makes them one of the longest established string quartets in the world – and possibly unique in having reached this milestone with an original player still on board! An extensive diary of celebratory events started in 2018 and continues till 2020.  Last October the quartet were appointed quartet-in-residence at University of St Andrews Music Centre.
